GREENVILLE, Miss. – A Mississippi school district is receiving a barrage of complaints after a teacher was caught on video dragging a special needs student by her hair in a school gymnasium.

In one of two videos posted to Facebook by concerned parent Kesha Williams, a woman attempting to control a Greenville High School special needs student who was trying to flee the gym grabbed the girl by the hair and dragged her away from the door about 15 feet.

In the second video, the same special needs student is retrieving what appears to be a metal cup from the bleachers when the same woman snatched the cup away and bonked the girl on the head with it while two other adults stood by. Later in the video the woman had the girl on her lap in a rolling chair and appeared to grab the girl by the hair as she attempted to get away.

Williams sounded off in the video post: “THIS SHIT JUST PISSED ME OFF THE CHILDREN T GREENVILLE HIGH CAUGHT ONE OF THE SPECIAL NEED STUDENTS GETTING TREATED LIKE THIS YALL SHARE SHE NEED TO BE FIRED.”

“I’m so mad I’m crying cus my baby in one of them classes but I swear I’ll kill that bihhh,” she wrote in another post with several emojis.

Williams also alleged in other posts that her “God bby” recorded the video and was threatened with suspension because of it, and that she feared her own children could face retaliation because of her video posts.

Others on Facebook identified the teacher in the video as Linda Winters-Johnson, and called for her head.

“Get this bitch fired,” Creighton Leigh posted along with a video of the abuse and contact information for Greenville High School officials.

“She doesn’t need to be teaching anywhere in the state!!!” a group No Hate In Our State Mississippi posted. “Fire her and send her straight to jail!”

“I’m putting it out there right now. If I ever see someone abusing a special needs kid … or any kid … I will drop everything I am doing and beat you within an inch of your life and I don’t care who you are!” Kashona Thompson threatened.

“This is ridiculous I’m really angry about this! Lord I hope this child parents press charges for aggravated assault and child abuse for starters,” Renardo Antione McKinney wrote. “This is a special needs child! Really! Stupid bitch!”

Numerous other folks reposted the videos to Facebook and tagged Linda Winters-Johnson with personal messages like “You sorry piece of shit” and “Yes Linda Winters-Johnson we are out for your tail. Sick and tired of people like you mistreating our kids.”

The Delta Democrat Times contends the videos are roughly two weeks old. They’ve received well over 2 million views.

School officials have been relatively little to say about the incident.

“We are all aware of the situation,” Greenville High School Principal Xavier M. Hodo said, according to WAPT. “We are taking all proactive approaches to ensure this is handled in an appropriate manner. We all have high expectations for all of our staff members. Anything that falls short of that is unacceptable.”

The mayor of Greenville also addressed outraged parents.

“The issue was one that raised concerns about staff professionalism and the safety and treatment of our students. As a parent of a student who attends Greenville High, I am deeply concerned, like many of you,” Mayor Errick D. Simmons said in a prepared statement Friday.

“Rest assured that all impacted individuals are aware of this situation and the school district has already begun to take appropriate actions to continue its efforts to guarantee the safety, protection and integrity of our educational environment,” he continued. “I appreciate the swell of interest, concern and dialogue among the community that continues to indicate the support and zeal for our students.”
