KINGSLEY, Pa. – A Pennsylvania 29-year-old high school teacher faces criminal charges after she allegedly had sex with a student and sent him nude images of herself, which were shared with other students.

Mountain View High School teacher Megan Clough faces a single charge of institutional sexual assault for sending nude pictures of herself to an adult student through Snapchat and having sex with the 18-year-old at her house March 12, The Times-Tribune reports.

A parent notified Mountain View principal Robert Presley of the nude images of Clough and the alleged sexual relationship with the student. Presley apparently investigated and provided names of those who received the images to police, who then questioned students.

“In an interview June 8 with police, a Mountain View 11th-grader admitted he had a naked photo of Ms. Clough on his cellphone. The student told police he had the picture on his device because Ms. Clough had sent it to another student using Snapchat,” according to the news site.

“With the app, messages and pictures disappear after several seconds unless the recipient saves the message. The sender is notified the message is saved.

“The student told police the recipient didn’t want Ms. Clough to see he saved the photo, so he had the other take a picture of the photo with his phone,” The Times-Tribune reports.

Clough’s alleged victim told police she sent him five or six nude images and the two had sex once in March.

WNEP reports Clough allegedly told police she sent her alleged victim nude images because he asked for them. She had sex with the 18-year-old because “I guess I had feelings for him,” Clough told police.

Students and parents didn’t seem to think that was a good enough reason.

“If you’re going to have a job – at least be professional about it,” senior Jake Krupovich told WNEP. “(Be) as professional as you can be and have some respect.”

Chase McLaud, a 2009 Mountain View grad, agreed with Krupovich.

“Teachers shouldn’t be messing around with kids or nothing like that,” he said. “If they do, kids are going to talk so you’re better off just keeping on your own. Outside of school, that’s your private life and students shouldn’t be in your life outside of school.”

Clough was charged with institutional sexual assault because her alleged victim could have legally consented to sex had he not been her student.

Many who commented on the story didn’t think the student involved should be labeled a victim in the relationship.

“Yeah, he was a senior, so I would say he totally knew what he was doing and is not a ‘victim,’” dj1651 posted to The Times-Tribune.

“(A)s a young male, who’s not going to sleep with your young and attractive teacher if given the chance?” Gene Parmesan wrote.

Others didn’t think it matters much that the student is legally an adult.

“Legally it is wrong and morally disgusting to manipulate a student,” Kathleen posted to WNEP. “She’s a predator that should be placed on the Megan’s Law website for sexual abuse of a student right there with the rest of them!”
