IVERNESS, Fla. – Citrus High School English teacher Josephine Breviario contends she didn’t allow her students to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana and give them sex tips during a Christmas party at her house.

BreviarioThe 42-year-old educator allegedly admitted to hosting an “ugly sweater” Christmas party for about 40 of her students Dec. 12, but told police she did not allow them to drink alcohol or engage in other inappropriate behavior, the Citrus County Chronicle reports.

Students interviewed during the course of a six-week investigation – a joint effort by the district, police and the Florida Department of Children and Families – tell another story.

A total of 15 students faced questions about the party. Several collaborated claims Breviario allowed students to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana, while others denied any misbehavior.

“Mrs. Breviario knew that the kids were high and drinking,” one student told police. “She put me in uncomfortable situations where she has talked about her sex life to us and has given ‘tips’ on what to do to guys prior to that night.”

Several students provided police with a Snapchat video of Breviario wearing a boy’s jacket, slurring her words, according to the news site.

“The boys also kept joking around with Mrs. B about how attractive she was,” another student said.

“Before I left, I heard someone ask Mrs. B to put alcohol in a sparkling peach drink – and Mrs. B allowed them to do it,” another student told investigators. “(Breviario) kept saying that she ‘needed a refill’ and ‘I need vodka because beer makes me bloat.’”

Others who attended the party, which also reportedly involved Breviario’s husband and daughter, said their teacher acknowledged some were smoking marijuana, and told some students the morning after the bash that she wished she could smoke marijuana as well.

One student also told investigators Breviario bought alcohol for her on several occasions. Students’ names were redacted from documents provided to the Chronicle.

Breviario was suspended Dec. 15, when officials launched their investigation.

Her attorney, Steve Rossi, told ABC Action News that Breviario is upset by the allegations. He insists Breviario is innocent, and said she doesn’t plan to resign.

Brevario has no previous issues in her 12-year career as an educator Breviario has taught in Citrus County for 10 years, though it was her first year at Citrus High School, the Chronicle reports.

Citrus County Sheriff’s officials forwarded the criminal case against Breviario to the State Attorney’s Office for consideration, though she is not currently facing charges.

The Chronicle posted all of the investigative documents and student statements pertaining to the case on its website.
