LA VERGNE, Tenn. – A woman who claims to be a teacher was arrested for reckless endangerment Sunday after she was busted allegedly driving around with three kids in her trunk.

A concerned citizen called La Vergne Police Sunday evening after reportedly witnessing a woman with children in the trunk of her car at a local Speedway gas station. Officers responded and found Andria James, 33, with three young kids – ages 9 and 10 – packed in the trunk of her car, as well as six children roughly the same age in the cab, the Daily News Journal reports.

James reportedly told officers the children were her students, but police did not release details on what school district she works for, though Rutherford County Sheriff’s officials said she’s not employed at local schools, according to WKRN.

“James was arrested and taken to (the) Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department where she was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment,” the news site reports.

Police called the parents of the students to pick them up. James allegedly told the arresting officer she works for the Nashville school district, though they’re unsure about which school, according to News Channel 5.

Police also have not released any information on why the kids were in James’ car on a Sunday night.

James is next scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court March 9, according to WGNS.

Commenters online did the police’s work for them, and tracked down the teacher’s employer – Alex Green Impact School.

“Her 2 public (Facebook) pages tells you where she works, it’s Alex Green Elementary in Nashville,” Kristina Gilbert posted to the Journal’s Facebook page.

The news site also confirmed the information.

“According to a spokesman for the city of La Vergne, she said she’s employed at Alex Green Impact School in Nashville,” according to a Facebook post.

An update posted to Fox 17’s Facebook page contends James is an intervention specialist, though some who added comments pointed out media reports are still missing very basic facts about the case.

“Why were the kids with the teacher on a Sunday anyway?” Noel Johnson wrote. “And why were they in her trunk?”
