SEATTLE –  Brent Conley, a 27-year-old high school teacher, has been charged with attempted commercial sex abuse of a minor after allegedly agreeing to pay $100 to have sex with someone he thought was a 15-year-old cheerleader, the Seattle Times reports.

Fake cheerleaderConley responded to a posted ad on a “casual encounters” section of a website and believed he was talking with a teenage girl who was looking to make money by having sex. In reality, he was chatting with a detective from the Seattle Police Department.

The detective posted an ad titled “Student looking for older men” and Conley replied shortly after, according to the news report.

Conley exchanged emails and texts “of a sexual nature, detailing the sex acts” he wanted in exchange for $100, the story reports. He arranged to meet the “cheerleader” at a McDonald’s the next day and bring her to his house.

When he arrived at the location, police arrested him and found $100 cash in his possession.

Chris Loftis, communications director for the Kent school district, said Conley was placed on administrative leave and was notified that he is to have no contact with students or staff at the school.

Conley spent 22 hours in jail before he posted a $75,000 bond.

As a condition of his release from jail, Conley is banned from having any contact with minors except in the presence of a responsible adult.
