Illinois lawmakers may delay Common Core standards

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Illinois state Rep. Dwight Kay announced that on Wednesday he will be presenting House Resolution 543, which urges the Illinois State Board of Education to delay the implementation of Common Core Standards until a study is conducted showing the costs associated with it.

School was wrong to make student remove Marines t-shirt

LEHIGHTON, Pa. – A couple weeks ago we told you about an Illinois teacher that ordered a high school student to remove a Marines t-shirt because it depicted “violent behavior.” It was the latest in a long line of ridiculous overreactions by school employees fearful of guns, things that could look like guns or images of guns.
