Union VP threatens school board, vows ‘no peace’ in Chicago

CHICAGO – During a Veterans Day protest – which focused on school closings, not the service of veterans – Chicago Teachers Union Vice President Jesse Sharkey said the union would go after the school board and there would be “no peace” in the city if the board follows through on a plan to close 100 underperforming unionized schools.

Chicago Teachers Union forgets the veterans on Veterans Day

CHICAGO – On Monday, November 12th (the observed Veterans Day), the Chicago Teachers Union organized a protest, not to honor vets, but to protest school closures. Ironically, all Chicago Public Schools were closed that day to supposedly honor military veterans who served out nation.
