AUSTIN – There’s a new front in the Left’s never-ending war against “inequality.”

A recent study finds that good-looking high school students do better than their not-so-pretty peers in nearly every facet of school life.

The decades-long study – conducted by researchers from the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Texas at Austin – reveals that students who were deemed attractive received more support from teachers and better grades, 9News.com reports.

Good-looking students also had more social opportunities and higher self-esteem than their unattractive counterparts.

These advantages all added up to more success in college and the work world, at least early on.

“It turns out the researchers found the success these attractive high school students had put them on a path to continue being successful,” 9NEWS Psychologist Dr. Max Wachtel explained. “Each gain builds on itself, and by later adulthood, it can help explain why attractive people are more successful than unattractive people.”

9News.com adds, “By contrast, the students who were rated as unattractive had to overcome more social hurdles than the attractive students, and they tended to be less successful.”

There is one caveat: Being truly gorgeous comes with its own set of problems.

“The highly attractive kids sometimes had difficulty succeeding in school because they became too busy with social activities like dating and partying,” Dr. Wachtel told 9News.com. “In some cases, extreme attractiveness can actually hinder a person’s level of success.”

Since the study is relatively new, there’s no indication yet what steps our progressive political leaders will take to address this new social-justice issue.

But rest assured, they’ll come up with something to help the less-attractive.
