Law enforcement sources say the boy sustained head injuries after he hit the sidewalk.

He was rushed to Hackensack University Medical Center trauma unit in critical condition with a head injury.

Elmer Pascia was “removing snow from the sidewalk in front of his house, across the street form the school, when the boy jumped,” according to the North Jersey Record.

The neighbor says the boy appeared to be “conscious and moving after he fell.” He added several people immediately ran to assist the boy.

Many parents went to the school Friday afternoon to pick up their children.

School remained in session, according to the Pilot.
