DARBY TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A second-grade teacher is facing multiple charges for allegedly touching seven female students in an indecent manner, including one 18-year-old former student who recently came forward with her allegations after first reporting them years ago.

Paul Hochschwender, 54, who teaches at Darby Township School, was first arrested in March on allegations that he indecently touched three little girls on the outside of their clothing in his classroom, according to a report from Philly.com.

Now he’s been arrested a second time, because four more girls have come forward with similar stories, including the 18-year-old.

The older alleged victim said she first reported Hochschwender’s actions when she was in his class, but said a school counselor “made her feel guilty and suggested the allegations could ruin Hochschwender’s career,” according to the news report. She said she later denied the story in a meeting with the principal, her mother and Hochschwender in the room.

She claims she was intimidated by the teacher’s presence.

Hochschwender has been put on administrative leave by the Southeast Darby School District, and is currently being held in the Delaware County Jail, the news report said.
