VERNON, Conn. – Jeffrey M. Sirois has a lot of explaining to do.

The Edwin O. Smith High School girls’ soccer coach recently pulled an Anthony Weiner, but instead of accidentally posting an image of his manhood on Twitter, Sirois sent a masturbation video to teen girls on his team, WFMY News 2 reports.

“I attempted to send a video of myself in which I was masturbating,” Sirois told the news site. “I was making the video to send to my girlfriend. It is something she and I occasionally do.”

Sirois, 57, supplied a copy of the video to police, and it matched footage received by several 14 to 16-year-old students who were friends with the coach on Snapchat and received the video.

He told police he deleted the video “about 15 seconds” after he realized he sent it to the wrong people, but exactly how the mix-up occurred remains unclear.

One thing that is for certain: his young team was disgusted by the graphic video and contacted a school volleyball coach about it, who alerted the principal. The principal called the police, WFMY reports.

“Once I realized what I was watching I threw my phone down on the table and said, ‘guys, you have to look at this,’” one of the girls told police, according to Sirois’ arrest warrant cited by the news station.

“I was upset and disturbed by the content and offended that our coach would share something like this,” another student told police.

Sirois is charged with obscenity, risk of injury to a minor and breach of peace.

District superintendent Bruce Silva told NBC Sirois was not a teacher at the school, and has since been fired from his coaching position.

News 8 attempted to interview Sirois at the Lebanon Green Market, a store he owns, but he declined to comment on his predicament. The news station also spoke with his wife, Marilu Sirois, who said “it’s a horrible situation and I really can’t comment any more than that.”

The station pressed her further, but the woman said she hadn’t spoke with her husband about the incident, and confirmed the couple was going through a rough time.

E.O. Smith High School Principal Lou DeLoreto said the Hartford Currant school officials have “been meeting with the team consistently and talking with parents” since the video surfaced.

“We’re trying to move forward,” he said. “We’ve done our best to address the situation and move forward with the (soccer) program.”

That may be difficult as the lewd video has also spawned allegations of other inappropriate behavior, WFSB reports.

“When police were called to investigate, the girls accused Sirois of making inappropriate comments and doing inappropriate things with players, (court) documents said,” according to the news site.

“The girls said Dirois allegedly told a player ‘You didn’t work hard enough because it’s still big,’ when referring to the player’s buttocks.

“The girls also told police that Sirois slapped a player’s buttocks when she was getting out of his car. He is also being accused of having a player’s picture on his phone as a screensaver, and has allegedly interacted with players on Snapchat, sending photos of himself in soccer jerseys, court documents said.”
