KERMIT, Texas – A fourth grader has been suspended after he allegedly made a “terroristic threat” against one of his classmates.

Nine-year-old Aiden Steward brought a toy ring to Kermit Elementary School similar to one used in “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.” He saw the movie the previous weekend.

He reportedly told a classmate he could use “his magic ring could make the boy disappear,” the Odessa American reports.

The boy’s father, Jason Steward, is trying to find out why his son was suspended.

For now, the school isn’t talking.

“All student stuff is confidential,” Principal Roxanne Greer says.

“She referred a call from the Odessa American to Kermit Independent School District Superintendent Bill Boyd, who did not return a phone call,” the paper reports.

“It sounded unbelievable,” the boy’s father tells the New York Daily News.

“Kids act out movies that they see. When I watched Superman as a kid, I went outside and tried to fly,” Steward says.

According to the father, Aiden told his friend he could put the ring on his head and make him invisible, like Bilbo Baggins does in the movie.

“I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence,” the boy’s father later wrote in an email to the paper. “If he did, I’m sure he’d bring him right back.”

This isn’t the first time this school year the boy has run afoul of the school’s apparently rigid rules.

He previously served an in-school suspension for “referring to a classmate as black” and also got in trouble for “The Big Book of Knowledge” to the school. The book reportedly has a section on pregnancy, which includes an illustration of a pregnant woman.
