“Alkadi’s older brother said Alkadi sold his car on Sept. 17, but police had located it and that person who bought it was not linked to the student’s disappearance,” according to the Desert Sun.

Police traced his cell phone to Beaumont, California – about 75 miles away.

“…But it was then deactivated,” the paper reports.

His brother says he has no known connections in that area.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Alkadi is “a full-time electrical engineering student.”

He comes from a “prominent family in Saudi Arabia,” according to the Press-Enterprise.
