STAFFORD, Va. – Planned Parenthood Federation of America, including its affiliates across the country, has always been known as an organization that pays its executives well.

The extent that the salaries of Planned Parenthood’s chief executive officers have grown over the last few years has surprised even the most seasoned Planned Parenthood observers.

In the 2015 PP CEO Salary Report released today, American Life League’s STOPP program documents that the average salary of the 62 PP affiliate CEOs is $188,916. Sometimes numbers can be skewed by one person making a lot of money or another person being paid very little. This is not the case with PP CEOs. The median salary is $176,663—a seemingly appropriate calculation for an organization doing the work of Satan.

Even more surprising are the salaries paid to the headquarters staff at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The top 12 employees at PPFA receive an average salary of $345,338 annually. Its leader, Cecile Richards, takes in $590,928.

Reacting to these new numbers, Judie Brown, president of American Life League, said, “Planned Parenthood’s claims of serving the poor are ludicrous given the massive salaries it pays its CEOs. In fact, we see by looking at these salaries that PP is more interested in milking the government to line its own pockets off the backs of both the poor and the innocent humans it kills every day.”

The salary figures were taken from official IRS forms 990. Planned Parenthood claims it exists to serve poor and unfortunate women. It says 78 percent of its clients receive incomes below the federal poverty level. Yet, the combined salaries of its CEOs was $11,536,408 in 2013.

“It is really disingenuous for Planned Parenthood to claim to be an organization for the poor when its average CEO salary ranks in the top six percent of all Americans,” said Jim Sedlak, vice president of ALL. “In addition, the average salary of its top dozen headquarters staff—who do not provide any medical services—ranks in the top two percent. It’s time the American taxpayer stop providing 40 percent of Planned Parenthood’s income.”
