WASHINGTON, D.C. – First Lady Michelle Obama is planning another summer European vacation trip where she will reportedly tout some of her domestic initiatives to an international audience.

“The first lady’s itinerary includes stops in London and the Italian cities of Milan, Vicenza and Venice from June 15-21, the White House said Thursday,” the Associated Press reports.

Accompanied by daughters Malia and Sasha, and her mother, Marian Robinson, Obama will “highlight her program to combat childhood obesity.”

It’s unlikely she’ll showcase some of the actual “healthy” lunches being served to students, who continue to post the questionable creations to social media as the school year winds down.

The Prior Lake-Savage school district in Minnesota is the latest to drop the National School Lunch Program.

“Mainly our students have told us they are interested in portion sizes that better meet their needs,” Janeen Peterson, food services director in the Prior Lake-Savage district, tells the Star Tribune. “The school lunch program is not meant to meet the needs of very active students.”

Nearby Wayzata High dropped the program at the end of last school year.

Now, homemade mac-and-cheese is a favorite.

“Lots of double and triple portions when that’s served,” according to Mary Anderson, the Wayzata district’s food service director.

Another story the first lady will likely leave out of her European vacation trip speeches.
