SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Two New York mothers are demanding answers from school officials after their children were tasked with comparing Donald Trump to fascist dictators like Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

Julie Tellstone and Marnie Messitt, both members of the local “Conservative Chicks” group, told “Fox & Friends” Monday they contacted officials at Saratoga Springs High School recently after students in several history classes were given assignment asking them to examine comparisons between Trump and the World War II dictators.

The woman said the PowerPoint presentation was posted to the Saratoga Springs City School District website until they pressed school officials to explain why their children were exposed to the “left-wing indoctrination.”

“I received an anonymous email with a link to the website, this is a public school district website, and I immediately sent this to the … board of education for their review,” Tellstone said.

“It was more than one class because it was a school-wide presentation, it was held by different classrooms and my child did sit through one of the presentations,” Messitt added.

Fox News’ Todd Starnes spoke with other concerned parents with the Conservative Chicks group who said the assignment included graphics comparing Trump to Hitler and Mussolini. Starnes reviewed the materials on the district website before contacting superintendent Mike Piccirillo, who defended the lesson.

“Once I started poking around and asking questions, the lesson was hidden behind a password protected firewall,” Starnes wrote on his blog.

“It’s total indoctrination,” another mother, identified only as Melissa, told Starnes. “It’s not their place to indoctrinate our children. It’s their job to teach the facts. Healthy debate is one thing but this definitely crossed the line.”

“Trump has absolutely no relation to World War II,” she said. “There’s no reason why he should be included with Stalin, Mussolini or Hitler.”

“The fact that they posted this on the school’s website shows just how brazen these teachers are,” another mother who was not identified told Starnes.

Piccirillo contends the lesson was justified because “teaching about fascism as a political movement in the context of World War II is part of the curriculum.”

“The cartoons you referenced were used as examples to introduce a student debate regarding how some media may be portraying our government as exhibiting the early signs of fascism.”

The assignment left students with the question “do you believe his is fair and/or accurate?”

Starnes asked Piccirillo whether teachers explained why it’s not, but he refused to answer the question.

Tellstone told “Fox & Friends” the school board didn’t bother to broach the issue at its recent meeting.

She said it’s not the first time teachers at the school have pushed a liberal bias on students.

“We have more stories, we could actually do additional segments … but the fact that the board of education met last night and this was not discussed – not one word was spoken of the national coverage and the parent concern over comparing our president, who I teach my kids to respect the presidency of the United States, not one word was spoken about comparing our president to brutal dictators who were responsible for killing millions of innocent people, that’s not okay,” Tellstone said.
