EMPORIUM, Pa. – A Pennsylvania substitute teacher faces child pornography charges after he allegedly bought nude images of female students from their male classmate.

Jon Serianni, 41, was working as a substitute high school teacher in the Cameron County School District when he reportedly overheard male students talking about nude images of one of their female classmates, according to media reports.

Serianni allegedly texted one of the boys and offered to buy the images. The two set up a deal for Serianni to pay $15 to $25 per image, but the male student told police he received less than $300, according to The Bradford Era.

Police were alerted by a female student who got wind of the exchange, and searched his home last week where they seized lots of electronics, “including several wired and handheld video game consoles, two laptop computers, multiple memory cards and digital storage devices, more than 20 compact discs and several cameras,” according to the news site.

Police allegedly found more than 190 images of young girls “in the state of nudity or sexually explicit positions.” Many of the images were of juvenile females undressing and posing in front of a webcam, according to police records cited by The Bradford Era.

Other images were of 11- and 12-year old girls, taken in Canada in 2008 and 2009. More images had no identifying information, but showed girls estimated to be between 9 and 11 years old.

Court records allege Serianni admitted to acquiring the photos, but told police he later changed his mind about the deal with his male students, told the boys we was ‘done,’ then put the images on a thumb drive and gave them back.

Serianni faces three counts of child pornography, and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility, all felonies.

He’s also charged with misdemeanor offenses for corruption of minors and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, the news site reports.
