NEW YORK – A Brooklyn teacher faces criminal sex charges after she inadvertently exposed her alleged lesbian relationship with a teenage student by accusing the student of sending threatening messages on Facebook.

English teacher Urszula Jankowska, 33, allegedly complained to her principal at Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design that a student was threatening her on Facebook.

A school counselor talked with the young girl and found out why.

From the New York Daily News:

“The student then told a school counselor that she and Jankowska began a relationship in 2008, when the girl was 13, law enforcement officers said. The student said the relationship ended in October 2011, sources said.”

New York City education officials said Jankowska was immediately removed from her classroom, where she taught English as a second language.

Jankowska is charged with committing a criminal sex act, forcible touching, and endangering the welfare of a child, the Daily News reports.
