NIKISKI, Alaska – A 36-year-old music teacher from Nikiski, Alaska, and a 37-year-old art teacher from New Jersey have been arrested and charged with having sexual relationships with students.

Nikiski Middle-High School teacher Jeremy Anderson faces seven charges of sexual abuse on a minor for alleged sexual contact with a 15-year-old student, according to the Anchorage Daily News. Alaska State Troopers were told of the incidents on May 8, and Anderson was placed on administrative leave.

Prior to arrival of police, Anderson threatened to take his own life, the news report said. Police found him the next day and took him to a hospital in Anchorage. He was arrested on June 5, with bail set at $150,000.

Meanwhile, NJ.com reports that Snyder High School art teacher Keith McGee was charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old student in a classroom at the New Jersey school.

The website notes: “McGee’s bail was set at $75,000 cash or bond. He made his first court appearance on the charges Monday in Central Judicial Processing court in Jersey City.

“School officials say McGee has been removed from the classroom, but that he had not been suspended as of yesterday morning.”

According to an earlier story on the website, McGee “is charged with sexual assault on the girl who is now 17 years old, endangering the welfare of a child and child abuse, the criminal complaint says. The alleged sex crimes occurred in McGee’s classroom in the Bergen Avenue school, the complaint says.

“McGee’s bail was set at $75,000 cash or bond and he made his first court appearance on the charges yesterday in Central Judicial Processing court in Jersey City wearing street clothes and with his hands cuffed behind his back.”
