BEDFORD, Texas – A North Texas mother is calling out her son’s school after she alleges the boy’s teacher forced him to clean out a bathroom urinal with is bare hands.

Parent Shara Francis posted to Facebook about the ordeal in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District yesterday afternoon, and her comments are getting a lot of attention.

“My 8 year old child attends Wilshire Elementary School in the HEB school district. He is in the 1st grade,” Francis wrote. “On yesterday I received a letter from his teacher stating my child threw dirt and wood chips in the toilet. Sure I was upset because school is not for play it’s to learn. However, what fully enraged me is that the letter went on to say she made my 8 year old child clean out the urinals with his bare hands.”

Francis made the post to NBC DFW’s Facebook page, which returned her message with a request to contact a reporter. The news site did not publish a story about the incident.

Other news sites did.

CBS DFW reports that the district officials are investigating the teacher’s alleged actions and are expected to meet with Francis today to discuss her concerns.

“I’m completely appalled and angry,” Francis wrote in her Facebook message. “This is NOT ok nor a respectable disciplinary action.”

The dirty debacle certainly isn’t the first time a teacher has drawn scorn from parents for forcing a student to roil around in a toilet.

In December, a Florida mother told WESH a teacher forced her 4-year-old son to pick toilet paper out of a toilet with his bare hands, which were covered in cuts, and did not remind the boy to wash afterwards.

“The teacher said he used too much toilet paper, and that she made him reach his hand in the toilet and grab out the toilet paper with his bare hands,” Tiffany Huffman said of her son’s experience at Rymfire Elementary in Palm Coast. “There were cuts on his hands. The bacteria, anything, hepatitis, anything can set in on those cuts.”

In that case there was reportedly no feces in the toilet.

Another instance about a year ago at Royal Live Oaks Academy in Hardeeville, South Carolina involving 7-year-old student was slightly more disgusting.

A parent told NBC 5 a teacher and paraprofessional at the school forced her son to unclog a school toilet with his bare hands when he used too much toilet paper – and literally forced the child to pick out the pieces through his feces.

“He has to live with these decisions from the teacher, taking matters into her own hands and handling the situation that way,” the child’s mother, who was not identified, said at the time. “I feel like they should not be just suspended if that’s what happened, they should be fired.”
