CHICAGO – Michelle Obama thinks it’s okay for some things to be morbidly obese … as long as they benefit her.

The first lady took time out of her war on “unhealthy” school lunches to demand beefy campaign checks for the Democratic Party.

Before attending the Beyonce/Jay-Z concert, Mrs. Obama attended a Chicago fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee.

“We need you to write the biggest, fattest check that you can possibly write,” Obama told the attendees, according to the New York Daily News.

An advocate for getting big money out of politics, she told the audience in prepared remarks:

So we can’t afford to just sit back and hope for the best, and then be shocked when things don’t work out our way — we do that a lot.  We need to be engaged right from the beginning.  And that’s where all of you come in, because there is something that all of you can do right now, today, to make a difference, and that is to write a big, fat check.  I kid you not.  I’m going to be honest with you, that’s what we need you to do right now.

Obama added, “writing those checks is the single-most impactful thing that you can do right now.“

The Daily News reports:

“Is that the way a First Lady should talk about politics?” said the prominent attorney and former high-ranking government official.

“It’s all about money? Not true.”

Despite her hypocrisy over political spending, all too soon she’ll return to dictating what kids should be eating for lunch.
