Los Angeles – Unions across the country are showing signs of solidarity for the Chicago Teachers Union’s strike, which began today.

One of the more humorous examples comes from Los Angeles, where unions will be staging a rally at the school district headquarters this afternoon.  The announcement email reads in part:

“Join rally in solidarity with Chicago teachers and build support for LAUSD displaced, RIF, and substitute teachers who are loosing [sic] jobs.

“TEACHERS: We need volunteers for this event.  Also, let others know about this event and let us know if your [sic] going to be there. Let’s make this a real demonstration by coming in big numbers.”

Perhaps if the unionists want to be taken seriously as “education professionals,” they should learn how to spell.  Solidarity forever – the union makes us incompetent and illiterate.
