PHILADELPHIA – Apparently even serving a life sentence for executing a police officer isn’t enough to prevent a leftist from getting his message out.  Just ask Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Mumia was convicted of executing Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981.

Executing a “pig” is likely what made him a folk hero to leftists. The California Federation of Teachers, for example, “reaffirmed” its support of Mumia in 2011 by passing a resolution at its state convention.  Never mind that Mumia executed a union brother.

Somehow, Mumia is allowed to broadcast messages to his admirers, opining on everything from the election to NATO to the state of education.

Judging by his latest rant, one might conclude he’s studying the union talking points, and could be angling for the top job.

Captured by PrisonRadio.org and published by EAGnews, the recording features Mumia addressing “teachers on the front lines of class war.”  He claims George W. Bush’s No Child Left Behind and its “ugly twin,” Barack Obama’s Race to the Top, are “both programs designed not to educate but to privatize American education by punishing teachers for the sins of an entire society and ultimately breaking unions.”

“The Bush/Clinton/Obama educational reform programs were designed not by educators but by businessmen, who, in an era of capitalist decline, see education as a field fit to be stripped for the oldest of reasons: profit.”

With that kind of logic, Mumia could give Randi Weingarten and Dennis Van Roekel a real run for their money!
