BERKELEY, Calif. – Students who rack up massive amounts of debt listening to the blatherings of know-nothings only have themselves to blame.

After all, who would pay to sit through a course taught by an individual who has demonstrated she doesn’t know what she’s talking about? Unless, of course, she’s teaching what not to do.

Michigan Capitol Confidential reports former Michigan governor-turned-TV host-turned-professor Jennifer Granholm is set to teach a course on job creation this fall.

According to the news site:

Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm will teach one course this fall at the University of California-Berkeley. It’s called “Creating Jobs through Better Government Policies for Innovation and Education.”

That is the only class Granholm will teach in the fall. In the spring, she’s listed as contributing to another course in Public Policy taught by another instructor. Granholm is listed as earning $84,331 in 2013 at the college.

Like many other progressives, Granholm looks to the government to create jobs, not the free market and private sector.

If Berkeley students want to learn something about real job creation, perhaps they should do the opposite of what professor Granholm suggests.

During Granholm’s 8 years as governor, the Michigan economy lost a staggering 630,000 jobs and Michigan’s Per Capita GDP fell from 24th to 41st, according to Red Alert Politics.

Additionally, Michigan’s unemployment averaged 37% higher than the national rate during Granholm’s term.

“Michigan led the nation in unemployment for 45 consecutive months from May 2006 to January 2010,” CapCon reports.

Granholm isn’t the only one on the university gravy train.

Her husband, Daniel Mulhern, is listed as earning $180,000 in gross pay in 2013 and is schedule to teach one class in the fall and two courses in the spring, the news site finds.
