ROCKFORD, Mich. – Government school districts and the teachers union are teaming together to create a new website which will feature “positive initiatives occurring in public schools,” according to Mlive.com.
The site, which was launched Monday by the “Michigan Public Schools Partnership,” is using tax dollars to tell taxpayers about how great schools supposedly are.
It’s a type of we’ll-spend-your-money-to-tell-you-how-well-we’re-spending-your-money routine.

“We want to highlight the remarkable things going on every day in Michigan public schools,” said Christine Beardsley, co-founder of MPSP and superintendent of Eaton Regional Education Service Agency, according to Mlive.
The other co-founder, June Pettyplace, is an employee of the Michigan Education Association.
Internet records indicate the site’s domain was registered by Oakland Schools, a conglomeration of school districts in Oakland County, near Detroit.
So the educrats couldn’t even find an external cheerleader? That’s telling, isn’t it?
And according to the MEA’s LM-2 financial document filed with the federal Department of Labor, Pettyplace was paid $137,270 last year, while the average teacher’s salary in Michigan is $62,631. That’s a one-woman success story that likely won’t be featured on the site.
Taxpayers don’t need to be paying for a propaganda site from people patting themselves on the back. The success of schools should be self-evident. But apparently it isn’t.
