CUMMING, Ga. – A teacher’s aide in Forsyth County, Georgia was fired this week after she allegedly made racist comments about first lady Michelle Obama on Facebook.

Jane Wood Allen, a teacher’s aide at Chestatee Elementary School, was “relieved from duty” Monday after outraged locals contacted school officials about Allen repeatedly calling first lady Michelle Obama a gorilla on Facebook, Fox Atlanta reports.

“Effective Monday, Oct. 3, Jane Wood Allen has been relieved from duty and is no longer an employee of Forsyth County Schools,” the district posted to its Facebook page. “We are committed to ongoing staff training on the acceptance of all individuals. As this is a personnel matter, the district will provide no further comment.”

BET reports:

In one post from August, Allen reposted an article titled, “First Lady Michelle Obama continues to top lists of most admired women in the world. Do you admire her?” Allen then wrote her own caption above the article:

“I admire a gorilla more than I admire her. (Wait I forgot, she is a gorilla)! If she was a real first lady, she would not have used and abused her title, by thinking she is entitled to go on all the trips that she takes every other day. But most of all, wasted all of our tax payers money. She is the worst example of a First Lady ever! (Oh sorry, I meant gorilla not First Lady)!”

Last week, Allen posted another disgraceful caption insulting the Michelle Obama. She posted an article from Americannews.com titled, “Outrage after Michelle Obama Slips Up…America Furious.” This time, Allen’s caption read:

“This poor Gorilla. How is she going to function in the real world, by not having her luxurious vacations paid for anymore? She needs to focus on getting a total make-over (especially the hair), instead of planning vacations!”

Another post on Allen’s Facebook page linked to an article about Muslim Americans vowing to leave the U.S. if Trump becomes president, to which she commented: “Bye! Don’t come back! You have no business in the USA anyway!” according to screen grabs posted to the recently created Facebook page “Chestatee Elementary School Fire Jane Wood Allen, NOW.”

District communications director Jennifer Caracciolo told Fox Atlanta that officials were alerted to Allen’s online activities on Friday.

“Our schools were closed for fall break last week. We have and will continue to address this issue with the employee on Monday,” Caracciolo said in the statement Friday. “Racism and discrimination are not tolerated in Forsyth County Schools.”
