BALTIMORE, Md. – A former Baltimore-area school teacher faces multiple criminal sex charges after he allegedly attempted to solicit what he thought was two teen boys for sex.

In reality, Charles David Beaver, 58, allegedly made arrangements online with undercover police officers to meet a 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy for sexual services at a Baltimore County hotel, where he was arrested earlier this week, CBS reports.

Beaver “told detectives that he works by the Jewish Community Center as an aquatics instructor and is in charge of the summer camp for children pre-k through third grade,” according to the news site. “Evidence was also discovered that he had been a soccer coach and is a retired Carroll County school teacher.”

Beaver is charged with sexual solicitation of a minor and other charges.

“We are deeply disturbed and concerned and intend to fully cooperate with the authorities in their investigation of Mr. Beaver,” the Jewish Community Center said in a press release cited by CBS. “Mr. Beaver has been terminated from JCC effective immediately.”

The community center assured parents it uses an outside firm to conduct “a rigorous background investigation of all prospective JCC employees” that includes “fingerprinting and a search of the Criminal Justice Information System.”

Police contend they received a tip Tuesday about a man who was looking to pay $2,000 to two teen boys for services as his personal “sex slaves,” WBALTV reports.

“According to charging documents, Beaver told the undercover detective posing as the boy that he liked ‘to shower with teens, lots of body contact, cuddle I kiss, I give and receive nude message,’” according to the television station.

“The undercover detective told the suspect that he could meet the boys in a room at a Days Inn on Security Boulevard in Baltimore County” and was arrested by police when he arrived at the hotel, WBALTV reports.
