ALHAMBRA, Calif. – A California man was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a minor for several years while teaching in the Alhambra school district.

Jeffrey Yoshitake, 42, is accused of having a seven year sexual relationship with a former female student from the time she was 15 years old to adulthood, according to KABC.

Yoshitake, a 5^th-grade teacher, was the alleged victim’s former math teacher. He is charged with one felony count of lewd acts with a minor.

Investigators say the former teacher is being held on $100,000 bond. They are encourages anyone with information about Yoshitake’s conduct to come forward.

Special ed teacher charged

A New Jersey teacher is facing charges for allegedly having an inappropriate online conversation with a 14-year-old student.

Cara Conroy, 33, a special education teacher at North Brunswick High School, is facing charges of child endangerment, reports WHTM.

Conroy and the boy had allegedly chatted online last week and discussed engaging in sexual activity. Upon learning of the conversation, the boy’s mother contacted authorities.

Conroy, who has been teaching in the district since 2005, was suspended without pay from her job.

Former Michigan teacher convicted of criminal sexual conduct

A former Sault Area Public Schools teacher was found guilty of criminal sexual conduct with a student earlier this month.

John Howell, 42, was convicted of having a sexual relationship with a student between the ages of 13 and 16 during 2012 and 2013, reports the Soo Evening News. He was also convicted of indecent exposure.

Howell had been employed with the school district for more than a decade and resigned when the allegations came to light.

He is facing up to life in prison and is expected in court for sentencing in April.
