ORLANDO – An Orange County elementary teacher was among 38 people arrested during an undercover child-sex sting in Florida, according to myfoxorlando.com.

Matthew Chillcott, a 43-year-old teacher and at Lawton Chiles Elementary School and youth soccer coach, was arrested after investigators say he agreed to travel to a location to have sex with a detective posing as a 14-year-old girl.
The 10-day long undercover operation dubbed “Operation Cyber Child” was conducted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and used undercover detectives posing as young children on internet chat sites to lure predators.
Authorities say Chillcott had been in contact with the undercover Casselberry Police detective since January 2012.
“You see a person, we see a monster. These are all pedophiles, they’re all dangerous, they’re all out trying to have sex with very young children and they’ll even walk boldly into your home when they think you’re not there to attack your child,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.
“We think we’ve seen it all until the next one walks through the door. And then we see something that seems a little more bizarre than the last time.”
It gets even more bizarre – and scary- when teachers are involved with this kind of stuff. Unfortunately these type of real-life stories involving educators seem to be more common every year.
It’s unclear if Chillcott remains employed by the school district.
