VICTORIA, Texas – A lot of teachers are outstanding people.

But there are others who make us wonder who hired them, and whether that administrator was feeling drowsy that day.

A good example is Amy Madigan, 40, who was teaching kindergarten at Chandler Elementary School until February. Now she seems to be in a violent war with her ex-husband and his girlfriend that could lead her to prison.

In February, Madigan was charged with running over Susan Dorsett, her ex-husband’s girlfriend, with her vehicle, causing the victim to have part of a leg amputated. Madigan resigned from her teaching position following her arrest, the news report said.

That case will soon be taken up by a grand jury, the report said.

Now Madigan has been charged with another crime – allegedly forcing her way into Dorsett’s home, then throwing a rock through a window after she had been asked to leave.

Madigan was reportedly upset because her child, who had stayed at the house the night before, had not gone to school. As it turns out, school was closed that day due to bad weather.

Madigan reportedly left the scene after seeing her own child in the house.

On Tuesday Madigan’s house caught on fire, causing significant damage and forcing several occupants to be treated for smoke inhalation, the news report said. Officials have not determined the cause of the blaze.
