SCHRIEVER, La. – Two teenagers were arrested after they allegedly beat the father of a boy who refused to give one of them his bus seat.

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter tells WWL Charles Van Norman and Mark Cheatham Jr. delivered a “severe beating” to an unnamed man. They’re both charged with second-degree battery.

“The victim told police a group of males went to his home Tuesday afternoon to fight his 16-year-old stepson. Larpenter said Cheatham ordered the fight after the boy refused to give him his school bus seat that day. When the stepfather didn’t allow the fight, Van Norman beat him,” according to the news station.

The Daily Comet adds, “The victim sustained a broken jaw, multiple facial stitches and had two seizures because of the attack,” according to the sheriff.

The teens are held at the parish jail on a $50,000 bond.
