COVINGTON, La. – A private school teacher is out of a job after police say she supplied some of her students with pot brownies.

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s office is accusing Camille Brennan, a teacher at Archbishop Hannan High School, of gaving two female students brownies laced with marijuana.

She was booked on two counts of distribution of marijuana and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, the Times-Picayune reports.

Brennan allegedly admitted Wednesday to giving the brownies to the girls. The teacher resigned from the school while under investigation in the case.

School officials were contacted by one of the girls’ parents on the evening of May 1, the day Brennan allegedly supplied her with the brownie.

Administrators then contacted the sheriff’s office and an investigation commenced.

WGNO reports a warrant was issued for the teacher’s arrest on May 20th and she turned herself in yesterday.

The school’s principal, the Rev. Charles Latour, said he was not “at liberty” to discuss the situation, but he did send an email to parents, writing:

“Please understand that because this is a police investigation, I have no further information regarding this situation.

“However, rest assured I will continue to update you when the need to communicate additional information regarding this matter arises. Because of the delicate nature of this matter, I ask that you share this information with your Archbishop Hannan student as you see fit.

“I ask your prayers for our entire school community.”
