WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. – Education giant Pearson Educational Co. is pursuing criminal charges against a Wisconsin principal who allegedly threatened to bomb the company over frustrations with its customer service.

The Arizona-based educational software company contacted the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department last Wednesday to allege Assumption High School principal Paul Klinkhammer, 67, grew frustrated with its customer service and threatened to bomb the company.

“No harm was done to students, faculty or staff,” school board president Joan Bond told the Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune. “We are working with the police department as we have done in the past and will continue to do to find resolutions.”

Bond said Klinkhammer in now on administrative leave as the district investigates the allegations.

Klinkhammer did not respond to the news site’s calls for comment Thursday.

“The WRPD has submitted a request to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office to charge Kinkhammer with making a bomb scare, according to the release” cited by the Daily Tribune. “Klinkhammer did not make any threats against the school.”

District Attorney Craig Lambert refused to discuss the case when contacted by the Daily Tribune.

Assumption Catholic Schools issued a prepared statement about the ordeal to WAOW.

“It has come to the attention of Assumption Catholic Schools that Paul Klinkhammer, Principal of Assumption High School, has been asked to present himself to the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department stemming from an incident that occurred on 30 August 2017,” the statement read.

“From discussion with the police, we know that no crime is alleged to have been committed against any students, faculty, or staff of Assumption Catholic Schools. As per our policies and procedures, Mr. Klinkhammer has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately. We have and will continue to cooperate with local law enforcement and the Diocese of La Crosse in resolving this situation.”

Klinkhammer has not been arrested and does not currently face any criminal charge, WAOW reports.
