LIBERTY, N.Y. – A veteran New York teacher is accused of taking “sexting while driving” to a whole new level.

Clarkstown South High School music teacher Kip Bonsignore was arrested last Thursday morning after he allegedly exposed his genitalia to another motorist while driving down Route 17, LoHud.com reports.

The motorist to whom Bonsignore sent the graphic message called state police, and a trooper arrested the educator shortly before 10 a.m., according to LoHud.com.

Bonsignore was charged with public lewdness and “will answer to the misdemeanor charge at a future court hearing,” LoHud.com reports.

Michael Aglialoro, Clarkstown Central School District’s board president, told the news site the district is aware of Bonsignore’s arrest and is reviewing the situation.

“We’re still gathering information at this point,” Aglialoro told LoHud.com. “We are looking at this and taking it seriously. Paramount to everything is the safety of our students.”

The safety of New York and New Jersey motorists also needs to be considered. The actions required to expose one’s self to a fellow motorist while operating a vehicle at a high rate of speed are, we’re guessing, incompatible with safe driving practices.

If Bonsignore is found guilty, the music man may lose his job and his driver’s license, making Thursday’s escapade a very costly one.

Bonsignore has been teaching for 17 years. He made $104,323 in 2013, according to SeeThruNY.com.
