HOUSTON – Police are on the lookout for a Texas middle school teacher who allegedly became pregnant with her student’s child before aborting the baby and fleeing to avoid prosecution.

Alexandria Vera, a 24-year-old Stovall Middle School English teacher with a penchant for posting cleavage exposing selfies online, has reportedly been on the run since the District Attorney’s Office authorized criminal charges for an allegedly sexual relationship with one of her 14-year-old students this school year, KPRC reports.

Court documents allege Vera admitted to police she had sex almost daily with one of her male students between September 30, 2015 and January 30, 2016 at her home in Harris County, and that the victim’s parents both knew of and approved of the relationship.

Vera allegedly told police she first taught the victim during summer school last year, and the student was placed in her English class for the current school year. The teen routinely flirted with the teacher and requested her Instagram information, and Vera alleges she initially rejected his advances.

In September, the student was absent from class and Vera allegedly contacted him on Instagram to remind him about an assignment, she said. The student later asked Vera for her phone number, which she provided, and the two soon met up after school. Vera allegedly drove the student around in her car and made out, then returned to the boy’s home the next day while his parents were not home and consummated their relationship, according to court records.

“Defendant said that in October the school had an open house and this was when she met Complainant’s parents. Defendant stated that after the open house, she went over to complainant’s home, and was introduced as his girlfriend to the complainant’s parents,” according to a probable cause statement.

“The defendant stated that the parents were accepting of their relationship and she was even invited to family gatherings after that point. The defendant stated that her relationship with the complainant grew and they continued to have sex and spend time together,” the statement continued. “The defendant stated that the complainant would sleep with her at her house and then she’d drive him back home in the morning so that he could catch the bus to school.”

Vera told police the two were in love, and had sex nearly daily, and she eventually became pregnant with her student’s child. Vera said she told the boy’s family about the baby, and they were excited and supportive, but she later opted to have an abortion when Child Protective Services showed up at Stovall Middle School in February to question her and the student about their relationship, which she initially denied.

The Aldine Independent School District issued a statement to the Houston Chronicle about the teacher’s employment status, which is currently pending termination.

“Aldine ISD has been made aware that charges have been filed against a former Stovall Middle School teacher involved in inappropriate behavior with a male student,” the statement read. “When the allegation was made in April, the teacher was immediately removed from the school and place on administrative leave.

“Aldine ISD Police investigated the incident and turned their findings over to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.”

The district attorney charged Vera with continuous sexual abuse of a child, but police have been unable to locate her to serve the arrest warrant, KPRC reports.

Parents, of course, were shocked and outraged by the alleged teacher sex scandal.

Father Gerson Bonilla told KPRC “it’s horrible for any father or any family member going through this situation.”
