PALM BEACH, Fla. – A former behavioral specialist with the Palm Beach County School District might have a tough time finding a new job after he alleged ran a former co-worker off the road and yelled profanities.

“You think I forgot,” Jashon Johnson allegedly yelled out his Volvo at John F. Kennedy Middle School principal Corey Brooks. “I am going to kill you, (expletive), I am going to kill you!”

Brooks told police he was traveling to work Tuesday morning and was attempting to turn when he noticed a vehicle barreling down on him. Brooks said he swerved onto the sidewalk to avoid a collision with the Volvo and stopped to catch his breath, the Sun Sentinel reports.

That’s when Johnson allegedly threatened Brooks before driving away.

“It wasn’t a typical disgruntled-employee situation,” district spokeswoman Julie Houston Trieste told the news site. “It was nothing like that – he was not reappointed because of funding.”

Trieste said Johnson, 37, was not rehired at John F. Kennedy Middle School last school year because of budget cuts. Johnson worked for Palm Beach schools in 2011-12, and again from 2012 through 2014.

After the altercation, Brooks, 38, drove to the school parking lot and waited near his car to be sure Johnson did not follow him before heading into the building and calling police.

“Mr. Brooks stated that Johnson did not follow him, but he was in such fear of what Johnson might do to him, he stood by his vehicle for a few moments before entering the school,” according to the police report.

Johnson initial denied ever seeing Johnson Tuesday when questioned by police, but later changed his story. He alleged the principal gave him the middle finger, then requested an attorney, the Palm Beach Post reports.

Trieste told the news site Brooks didn’t miss any work because of the ordeal, but left town shortly after for a prescheduled conference.

“Physically he’s OK,” she said. “He’s shaken up by the whole thing.”

Brooks told police Johnson never actually struck his vehicle, but came darn close, the Associated Press reports.

Police arrested Johnson for assault and aggravated assault on a school employee and booked him into Palm Beach County Jail before he was released Wednesday night under supervision, the Post reports.

“His criminal history includes a guilty plea for driving with a suspended license in 2005 for which he served 28 days in county jail. He has had other felony arrests but charges were not filed,” according to the news site.

The irony of the former behavioral specialist’s apparent anger issues wasn’t lost on readers.

“Geez, I’ll bet this guy was a great anger management counselor for the kids, what with the subtle way he handled his reassignment and misguided rage towards the principal,” billybobteach posted to the Sun Sentinel. “Sounds like a leader!”
