CONROE, Texas – A  Texas high school chemistry teacher was busted at school for allegedly carrying a backpack with recipes to make date rape drugs.

Oak Ridge High School teacher Haivan Bui was arrested at school after deputies searched her apartment and allegedly found recipes to make date rape drugs, as well as marijuana, methamphetamines, prescription medication, and compounds used to make the date rape concoction, KHOU reports.

Police contend that officers also found date rape recipes in her backpack when she was arrested Friday, according to the new site.

“It was kind of crazy. Everyone was like, maybe it’s drugs, and it was,” student Armando Sanchez told KHOU.

Boi, who also teaches at Lone Star College, was charged with possession with intent to deliver or manufacture a controlled substance, while her husband, who was home during the police search, was also arrested for possession and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to news reports.

Sanchez told the news site the teacher didn’t show up for his last period chemistry class, and another teacher informed students Bui was arrested.

“She was really nice,” he said. “I think she was a good teacher.”

Many are thinking, she didn’t seem like the teacher who would do something like that,” senior Nicholas Marron told KHOU. “We couldn’t believe … what was happening.”

“There is no reason to believe that any illegal activity took place at the campus at this time,” principal Tommy Johnson wrote. “We are very disappointed and want to assure you that we are committed to providing a safe learning environment for our students. We will remain vigilant in investigating any and all reports that might affect the well-being of students or staff.”

KHOU reports Bui has worked for the Conroe Independent School District since 2013.

Neighbors at Bui’s Woodlands apartment complex told the news site they initially thought police made a mistake.

“She seemed normal, like a normal neighbor,” Karen Cox said.

“They didn’t look like the type of people who would do that,” Woodlands resident Curneesha Hammonds told Houston news station KPRC.

“Maybe they’re trying to be the new ‘Breaking Bad,’” said Phyullis Hannon, another resident in the apartment complex. “He was a chemistry teacher on the show, too.”
