STILL RIVER, Mass. – Students of Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Still River, Massachusetts, have nominated three local Catholic educational institutions to take the Prayer Vigil Challenge of praying for one hour in a peaceful vigil outside of Planned Parenthood on Pleasant Street in Worcester.

Once the challenge is accepted, a school may then challenge three more schools.

Joseph Duffy, president of the school’s Saint John the Baptist Pro-Life League, explained the nature of the challenge. “Our aim is simple: to close down the killing center of Worcester—Planned Parenthood—through peaceful witness and public prayer.”

“Prayer vigils are effective,” claimed Chiara Creagan, a senior at IHM, “Just in the 40 Days for Life Campaign alone, over 9,000 lives have been saved and 59 abortion mills closed.”

The three nominated schools are the Trivium of Lancaster, The College of the Holy Cross, and Assumption College. Those accepting the challenge are welcome to send pictures of their event along with three nominations for widespread publication.

“The future of the pro-life movement depends on the commitment of the youth today,” said Maria Benitz, of IHM’s Class of 2015.

Kudos to Immaculate Heart of Mary School and to all those Catholic schools participating in the Planned Parenthood prayer vigil challenge. When youth turn out in opposition to Planned Parenthood with Our Lady in the lead, miracles happen!
