FULLERTON, Calif. – An Orange County teacher is expected to be arraigned Wednesday on allegations that she had sex with, and sent sexually provocative messages to three teenage students.

Melissa Lindgren of La Miranda, a 28-year-old math teacher, will be charged with five counts of lewd acts on a child, two counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 and three counts of distributing pornography to minors, according to a report from the Pendleton Times Post.

The alleged victims were students at the school where Lindgren teaches and ranged in age from 13 to 15, the news report said. The allegations came to light when one of the students alerted authorities.

If convicted Lindgren could face more than 16 years in prison, the report said.
