AUSTIN, Texas – A politically correct move to drop a Confederate general’s name from an elementary school has parents pushing a politically incorrect name as its replacement: the Republican front runner for president.

Austin, Texas school leaders recently voted to strip Robert E. Lee off of one of its elementary schools in March amid the recent fever to purge all things Confederacy from the public square.

The Austin Independent School district asked for input from parents and citizens on a new name, even though the school board will likely ignore parental input and select their preferred social justice warrior to be commemorated.

The top nomination from parents? “Donald J. Trump Elementary School,” with 45 nominations.

Coming in second was another protest recommendation: “Robert E. Lee Elementary.”

KXAN lists the top 10 recommendations from parents:

  1. Donald J. Trump Elementary: 45 nominations
  2. Robert E. Lee Elementary: 34 nominations
  3. Russell Lee Elementary: 32 nominations
  4. Harper Lee Elementary: 30 nominations
  5. Elisabet Ney Elementary: 15 nominations
  6. Lee Elementary: 13 nominations
  7. Adolf Hitler School for Friendship and Tolerance: 8 nominations
  8. Waller Creek Elementary: 8 nominations
  9. Dr. Frances J. Nesmith Elementary School: 7 nominations
  10. Guy Bizzell Elementary: 6 nominations

KUT reports “Willie Nelson Elementary”, “Politically Correct Elementary School #1”, “Schooly McSchoolerson”, “Bleeding Heart Liberal Elementary” and “Hypothetical Perfect Person Elementary” also received nominations.

The Austin school district rushed to change the name of the school after a white man killed nine black church goers in Charleston, South Carolina last year. Robert E. Lee has no known connection to the murders.

According to KUT, the school board will decide the new name May 23rd. It’s not required to choose a name submitted by parents.
