Steve Gunn, Editor-in-Chief, has a background in print journalism. He worked 15 years as an award-winning political, local government and general assignment reporter for the Muskegon (MI) Chronicle. Prior to that he served for five years as an award-winning sports reporter and columnist for the same newspaper.
He is also a weekly columnist for the Chronicle.
Steve has a Bachelors degree in history, with a separate completed communications major, from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.

Victor Skinner is an award winning journalist who has written for several daily newspapers including the Utica, New York Observer-Dispatch, the Muskegon Chronicle, the Traverse City Record-Eagle, and the Grand Rapids Press. He has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and journalism from Syracuse University at Utica College in upstate New York, where he graduated magna cum laude in 2005.
He has placed in the Associated Press and Michigan Press Association news writing contests. He also garnered several competitive writing grants and scholarships while attending Utica College.
Victor lives in Norton Shores with his wife Amanda. In his free time, he enjoys swimming, boating, scuba diving, camping, disc golfing, skim boarding, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities.

Ben holds an undergraduate degree from Hope College and a Master’s degree from Michigan State University. He is also a former member of the Michigan Education Association.

In May 2012, Ashleigh graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University with a double major in Spanish and Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy with a specialization in Political Economy. As an advocate for school reform and limited government, she is pleased to be working for EAG. Ashleigh believes that every student deserves a good education that will prepare them for a successful future. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, reading, and spending time on the Great Lakes.
Kelly Olson, Operations Manager
Kelly Olson is a graduate of Western Michigan University earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Masters of Social Work. Through her experiences working with families in the social worker role, she became passionate about children receiving a quality education regardless of where they may live, or what circumstances they have at home. Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and playing soccer and softball.

Trevor graduated with honors, from Grand Valley State University, in the spring of 2013. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in business. Having taken an active interest in politics and school reform, he is passionate about providing every student the opportunity to receive a quality education. In his free time he enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, and is active in athletics.
Alissa Marsh, Intern
Alissa is studying at Grand Valley State University and is set to graduate in December of 2013. She will receive her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Minor in Philosophy. With her interest in Public Policy, specifically education reform, she is pleased to be working for EAG. She believes it is vital that every child has the opportunity to have a good education that will prepare them for college and a career. In her free time, Alissa enjoys spending time with her family, camping, reading, and spending time at Lake Michigan.
